Professional Summary

Marc Desormeaux holds a MSc in Nuclear Engineering and possesses a broad technical background in radiation safety, chemical, biological radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defence, aircrew radiation, radiation detection, project management and marine systems engineering. Marc has 25 years of experience at DND and is also a Lecturer at the Royal Military College of Canada.

Mr. Desormeaux currently provides CBRN specialist advice to the DND/CF CBRNE equipment project office. He was also the Command Radiation Safety Officer for Canadian Forces operations (2006) and was responsible for all radiation safety and regulatory compliance matters involving deployed, domestic and special operations. He also provided expert advice on detection technologies as a Technical Authority for the Canadian Forces on Ionizing Radiation Detectors (2003-2006). He is currently undergoing training as SLOWPOKE-2 nuclear reactor operator.
